Antique Herend Figurine

Soldier slaying the Dragon (#97) $325
This is a beautiful antique hand painted Herend figurine from 1938, which measures 8.50 inch tall and 4.50 inch wide and the glaze/color are sharp. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.
The figurine is of a Hungarian folk dress soldier slaying dragon, known as Janos Vitez who lived around 1437. This magnificent piece will add its own personality to any room. It is crafted of creamy earthenware, a rich clay color with a multi color uniform and the piece will coordinate with any decor. It will make a unique house warming gift.
It is world renowned Herend porcelain created in Hungary and the company's heritage dates back to 1826. This is a rare unique piece and is very hard to find any more.
Bottom markings include:
* Hungarian Emblem with "HEREND HUNGARY" circling on top
* The word "HANDPAINTED" under the emblem
* Also has "HEREND & 5508" inscribed in the porcelain
* The artist signature "Maucsa" & date "1938" is also inscribed on the base next to the dragon head
