This is an official 1867-1967 commemorative medallion for the Canadian National Exhibition held in Toronto, Ont. Canada celebrating its 100th birthday. This event is one of the worlds largest annual exhibitions and each year it attracts millions of visitors.
On the face of the coin is the picture of the Princes Gates with the works of Canadian National Exhibition 1967 encircling the entry. The center of the reverse side is the National Flag of Canada, also known as the Maple Leaf, featuring a stylized 11-pointed maple leaf with 1867 and 1967 on either side. The date Aug 18 - Sept 4 appears under the flag and the words CANADIAN NATIONAL EXHIBITION CELEBRATING CANADAS 100th BIRTHDAY encircles the coin.
The medallion is Nickel-Silver in mint condition and comes with a commemorative envelop and booklet. These are very scarce and are sought after by collectors. What a great commemorative medal for that special collector. It makes a great gift too.
